Here are two advantages of having roller blinds in your home.
You can utilise more of your rooms' wall space
If you currently have curtains, putting up some roller blinds instead could help you to utilise more of the wall space in the rooms of your home. This is because when roller blinds are put inside window recesses, they don't cover any of the space outside these recesses like curtains can.
In compact rooms with smaller walls, having extra wall space on either side of a window can be invaluable, as it can give you more options in regards to how you decorate these areas. It might, for example, allow you to create a small gallery wall instead of only putting up one or two pictures beside the window due to the curtains getting in the way. You could also opt for a mirror that is significantly larger than the one you could fit on the wall when it had curtains.
Alternatively, if the room is small and you want it to seem more spacious, you could simply put the roller blind in the window recess and leave the walls on either side of it bare; this would prevent any decorative clutter from making the room seem crowded.
They're easy to change
The other advantage of having roller blinds is that they're incredibly easy to change. If you replace one of your current roller blinds with one from the same brand, you could replace it without even changing the brackets; all you would have to do is pull the blind itself out of the brackets and pop in its replacement.
Even in instances where the brackets have to be switched out, this is an easy task that only requires a few minutes of work with a screwdriver. In contrast, changing curtains can take a long time, as you may need to not only take the curtain pole down but also attach the replacement curtains to the hooks. In situations where the pole is large and the curtains are long and heavy, you might even need someone to help you with this task; this is not likely to be an issue when you change a roller blind, as these blinds are usually very lightweight and easy to hold.
Being able to easily change your window dressings can allow you to be more flexible with your approach to decorating and to replace the window dressings so they suit the current season. For example, you might want to put up a thermal blind in the winter and a pastel-coloured, sheer blind in the spring.
